Clone of Rubbering up the right way 1

Fetish Club Promoter and Educator Miss Kim talks all things rubber..

How did you discover your passion for rubber?

I was already on the fetish scene when I discovered rubber. After all it was 25 years ago. There was no mainstream press to see images of rubber-clad ladies. Fetish was new to me and in turn - rubber!

Do you wear it every day (are you wearing it now?)

Erm no! I'm an outfit queen (Queen Of Clubs) and love it for the aesthetics. It's transformation qualities, versatility, shine and fit. I can get off wearing it but only if someone else it watching.

What is it you love about it?

I suppose it's every childhood superhero look, tight, shiny and invincible :)

Are there different types? Qualities?

No, latex is rubber. It’s a misconception that they are different. In the early days it was referred to as rubber a lot more than nowadays it's almost exclusively known as latex. I prefer the nostalgic 'rubber'. There are two main companies who produce it Four D and Radical Rubber.

Who are your favourite designers?

Breathless UK and House of Harlot are the ones I wear. But Atsuko Kudo is a genius and William Wilde has very sexy designs.

It's a bugger to get on and off. Is that part of its charm?

Well, it's true you can't just throw it on but use the right products and it will glide on the skin a lot easier. Vivishine for washing/shining. Pop Pjur Cult Dressing in your bag for “top up” shine whilst your out.

Any other tips for getting into rubber?

Make sure that the garment is in all the places it should be before pulling it onto the body any further. Eg the catsuit legs right up into the crotch, right up into the arm pits.

I've heard deodorant is bad for rubber. Don¹t you get hot and sweaty?

You can use perfume, deodorant etc but wash it after use.

Is PVC seen as a lesser fabric?

Yes, it's the poor cousin. The fit is never great and it's cheaper fabric for sure.

How did Club RUB come about?

I had been doing The Rubber Nipple Club for two years and needed to move on and start something fresh. I'd found a great venue too called The Chunnel Club (now Hidden) in VauxhallŠand the rest is history. Club Rub turned 17 years old on April 19th.. The theme was Rubber Dolls, Clowns, Puppets and Cuties!

What are the challenges of running a club?

I suppose the biggest one is finding a venue and then finding the one that works for you. I can always seem to find a venue but it's a lot more difficult finding all the elements that are needed. For instance, a venue that has the smoking area on a busy main road is not ideal (you don't want to cause a RTA).

The White Swan has the perfect secluded smoking area. A lot of venues only have a 2am licence and folks just don't want to go out early, and finish early. The WS has a 4am closing time. You need at least need two environments as a dungeon is hell on the dance floor. Again we have that at the WS in the basement bar. A venue that will let me store my dungeon furniture, is my idea of heaven. Then so long as you have sound and lights you're good to go! The icing on the cake is pub priced drinks in a club and the WS is certainly a cheaper night out than All the other clubs.

And the benefits?

A fetish club can't really only be called that, if it hasn't got a STRICT fetish dress code. Otherwise it's a munch with music or an alternative club. Black trouser/cargo pants just don't cut it at Club RUB. Also a fetish club isn't really one unless there is a dungeon for the BDSM players. So the benefit are, that you know you're in a real fetish club at Club RUB. It's reassuring to know that no one has just come to have a look, barge into you or take piccys with their camera phones!

Is everyone in dressed head to toe in rubber?

No, Club RUB is a fetish club and not a rubber club. You must wear fetish attire.  I started Rubber Cult (with Synth) just over a year ago to cater for rubberists. It has captured everyone imagination and is an amazing night. No mistaking that everyone is a rubber fetishist, as you can ONLY wear rubber!

Who goes to the club?

Fetishists. Rubberists. Riggers. BDSM players. Friendly people. All ages. Every walk of life. A community!

Can you share any of your fondest rubber memories?

I used to be the ONLY girl wearing a rubber hood at the Skin Two rubber Ball 15/18 years ago. People used to stare at me like I couldn't see them. I'm so thrilled to say that approx 80% of people wear a rubber hood at Rubber Cult.

How can people find you?

What! the natural habitat of Kim? In a fetish Club or teaching one of my workshops! Or via Club Rub or Rubber Cult or Kim@club-rub.com

Do you have anything else to add?

Yes, I run monthly workshops Club RUB Mistress and Club RUB Latex Michael Cane teaches the Club RUB Master They all do what they say on the label LOL

I also give back to the scene and organise a FREE bi-monthly Fetish Speed Dating at the White Swan. Just giving a little love to the community Club RUB Speed Dating Are you a hood lover like me? Check out our site, dedicated to all things hooded Hood Lovers

Thank you. Keep it real. Keep it fetish.

Hugs and RUBs...
